Our Craftsmanship
Made by people.
Our works are classical, handmade, and, much like the Old World traditions that inspire them, created at the pace fine art deserves. The value of the work at Parlor begins in the hands of the artisans who shape it. Each unique piece is made where experience still matters.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, our atelier sources its materials with the utmost care and consideration. Our practice is rooted in continual study of the Old Masters—their draftsmanship, methods, and reverence for craft.
Through this tradition, we hope to bring something enduring into the contemporary home: works made by hand, made with intention, and made to live alongside you—helping tell your story and celebrate the place you call home.
Our StoryBehind the atelier are two founding artists who were brought together by a shared devotion to creations made by human hands, shaped by history and beauty. Our practice has been shaped by our careers of making and learning, yet we remain students of our craft. We look to the Old Masters not simply for an aesthetic, but for their discipline, curiosity, reverence for materials, and lifelong pursuit of mastery. These are traditions we believe deserve not only to be preserved, but continued. The atelier grew from a desire to build the artistic life we had once hoped to find—to create a place where fine artists could devote themselves seriously to their craft, and where works could be made without surrendering to the pace or disposability of contemporary production. Our individual histories are deliberately kept in the background. We would rather the drawings, paintings, and materials that leave our studio speak first. What we and our team bring to them is a lifetime of study that is still very much underway. And, with time, a legacy worthy of the craft that inspired it.
